the body shop matte lip liquid

about a month ago the body shop came up with matte lipsticks (read the post here). now they have finally jumped to the popular liquid lipstick trend as well. if you live in the uk, you are spoiled with 12 different shades - in finland we got only 3. apparently these are a limited edition, but i hope they make them permanent.

the formula is not as liquid and lightweight as usual liquid lipsticks are, it's more velvety and mousse-like. it takes up to half an hour to dry well, and it still transfers. this formula suits better to people who have dry lips, and it feels much more comfortable on the lips. the 3 shades that are sold in finland are very similar. pink, fuchsia and dark red with purple undertone. the darkest shade is a bit streaky, so you need to apply 2 layers.

the body shop is waking up to the matte trend rather late. the formula of these lipsticks is quite comfortable matte - not too drying. they are well pigmented, but i'm not impressed of the color selection - i only like the last 2 shades. price in finland 16,50€.

in april nyx finally landed in finland! i was excited to try their products since i don't have so much experience of them and the prices are very affordable. 

nyx full coverage concealer "orange"

i wanted to try the youtube trend of putting orange concealer to under eyes, but it just didn't work for me. no matter how little amount i did put, it always started creasing. and to be honest i didn't see any difference on using only normal concealer. this one i actually bought from ebay already before, i think it's not sold in finland.

nyx extra creamy round lipstick "power"

the formula is as the name says, extra creamy. comfortable in the lips, but because of that it doesn't last very well. the color is not very easy to pull off - but nyx is all about crazy colors. and as you know, i absolutely love lilac and grey lipsticks!

nyx wonder stick "light/medium"

i'm always looking compact options for contour&highlight since my smashit palette is too big to carry around. the wonder stick has been a great and easy solution. the packaging comes with good instructions so it's easy for a beginner to start. only negative thing is that sometimes i struggle with the right amount of product. you need to be careful with blending since the product moves quite a bit and kind of "disappears". the wonder stick comes in 4 different shades. i will do a youtube tutorial of this product later, so come back to visit my page!

nyx lip lingerie "satin ribbon" 

this one i bought a little later so it's not in the other pictures. it would be a good reference to try the darker shades as well since lighter shades are always harder to formulate. the nude shade is nice, but it cracks a little bit. i wouldn't say the lipstick is 100% transfer proof, but a good budget option, since it costs under 10€.

colourpop ultra satin lip "marshmallow"

like you already know, i'm a sucker for everything grey! colourpop launched a new product while ago - the ultra satin lip. it's hard to describe the formula, but compared to liquid lipsticks the consistent is much thicker and mousse-like, it doesn't dry but it's still kind of matte. and suuuuper pigmented! if you don't like the drying effect of liquid lipsticks, try this formula.

"marshmallow"

i love this greyish lavender shade. not for everyday use, but i'm always intrigued by quirky colours.

currently there is 23 shades in the collection. the price is 6$ in colourpop website, but if you happen to live outside us, try to seek on ebay.

too faced melted matte liquified matte long wear lipstick "queen b"

when i saw another beauty blogger sneak peaking this in instagram i was so excited! i love the other melted lipsticks (see my post here) and i couldn't wait to get my hand on these. i actually saw these in ebay before they were in the website and i had to order one (even in mind blowing price..). i have been just too busy with school and travelling that i haven't have time to write about this baby (or other stuff that i have recently purchased, so stay tuned!).

and i have to say, i'm not disappointed! infact this is propably the best liquid lipstick i have tried. it's smooth like velvet, light but still very pigmented, long lasting but doesn't crack. the only thing i don't like is the shape of the packaging.. but i guess i'll live!

the other thing i need to rave about is the price - amount ratio, since with 21$ you get 7ml of product! (compare for example anastasia beverly hills 20$ and ~3,25ml). that is like double the amount.

"queen b"

this mauvy color got my attention from the start and there was no doubt of which shade i was going buy. suits to daily wear as well as formal events, goes with any makeup and outfit. a great makeup staple.

the body shop british rose spring trend makeup

few weeks ago the body shop launched it's spring trend makeup and renewed the lip stain collection.

british rose eye & cheek palette, 32€ and colour crush nailpolish 350 british rose, 8,80€

this special edition palette has 6 eyeshadows and two blushes. you can mix the colors for day- and night time.

the neutral shades suit for many. pigment wise they are good average. the palette is worth the price and because of its small size it's easy to carry around.

lip & cheek stain, 15,90€

the lip stain collection has gone through renovation and got 7 new shades.

037 dusty rose, 010 vineyard peach, 012 dutch tulip, 018 dark cherry, 022 pink guava, 026 bright peony, 029 deep berry.

i got to try the shade 029 deep berry.

you can get natural rosy cheeks with it, but applying to the lips is much more tricky! the color stucks to more dry parts, so you will get "the vampire effect", where your inner part of the lips are way darker. if you want just "my lips but better" i recommend you tap the product with your fingers. if you want more pigmented look, my tip is to layer the product more in the edges.

la splash lip couture waterproof liquid lipstick "og ghoulish"

trying yet another liquid lipstick. the moment i saw the shade og ghoulish from la splash cosmetics i had to have it! lately i have been craving muddy, earthy colours and i rarely use colourful lipsticks anymore..

the formula is more "liquidy" than other liquid lipsticks that i have tried but the pigment is still great - you need to only apply one coat. the product lasts very well since i ate two oily meals to test the lipstick and nothing happened. one negative thing is that with the applicatior comes way too much product. now in the future i'm prepared but when i first started applying it, it was almost dripping out from my lower lip :D

as you can see, in bright light the color looks completely grey, but in reality it's more greyish nude.

la splash cosmetics website offers international shipping but since the delivery price was jaw dropping 28$, i decided to look around ebay. i paid around 15€ (including delivery) for 3ml so i'm pleased. the delivery was also super fast, 9 days. the original price of the lipstick on la splash´s website is 14$ so i paid near it.

grey lips: gerard cosmetics london fog lipstick & gravity hydra-matte liquid lipstick

i have been in grey phase already for a while.. what i had been longing for was a grey lipstick. i think someone in gerard cosmetics read my mind when they created london fog lipstick and gravity hydra-matte liquid lipstick.

what surprised me was the size of the hydra-matte liquid lipstick. here is comparison picture to other liquid lipsticks from anastasia beverly hills and colourpop that i own.

in the picture it looks that only the applicator is shorter but there is less product as well. anastasia beverly hills liquid lipstick has ~3,25ml product and costs 20$, colourpop same amount but costs 6$. gerard cosmetics liquid lipstick actually has almost half less product (~1,75ml) and costs 20$. in my opinion colourpop's is the best on quality-price ratio since it's really pigmented but cheap also. (read my previous posts on anastasia beverly hills liquid lipstick and colourpop liquid lipstick).

gerard cosmetics "london fog" lipstick

first i was surprised when the surface of the lipstick was glittery. i really hoped the formula wasn't! and thank god it wore off when i applied the lipstick. the formula was nicely smooth but pigmented. start with this if you want grey lipstick but nothing too drastic. the shade is little bit purple as well.

gerard cosmetics "gravity" hydra-matte liquid lipstick

the liquid lipstick is very good quality. when you apply the formula is soft but it dries quickly and is very long lasting and pigmented.
price: 20$

when you buy something from gerard cosmetics check first their instagram account, they usually post discount codes. i bought mine from black friday sale with -50% off.

the best nude lip balm: lumene true passion lip color

i have been seeking a product that would be more pigmented than the clarins´ lip perfectors (my favorite lip glosses) but still not a lipstick. last week my search was ended when i accidentally found lumene's true passion lip color in shade "1 natural light" (valon leikki).

the formula is lovely soft and smooth, very good choice for someone who suffers from dry lips! the color is intensive, but since the color is light, it is very easy to apply even without lip liner.

because of it's moisturising formula it doesn't last as well as normal lipsticks, but it is a great and easy everyday color - what i was looking for. mainly the true passion lip color range consists of pink, orange and red shades.

it doesn't even break your wallet, the price (in finland) is 13,90€.

gerard cosmetics underground & cherry cordial lipstick

when i saw in instagram the 25$ deal for 3 lipsticks i couldn't resist myself.. (i ordered two and my sister one). the shades i chose were underground and cherry cordial.

as you can see gerard cosmetics has added a box for their lipstick which i think is nice because before they just used to come wrapped in plastic..

(sorry in the below picture the lipsticks changed place so in the left underground and in the right cherry cordial)

i was actually gonna take the shade 1995 first but i made a decision to change to something more colder toned since they suit better with my silver hair. undeground is really nice dark, grey-toned nude that i have fallen in love with. what i don't love though is the formula. the pigment is really hard to get on the lips, i had to rub the lipstick to my lips for several minutes to get good color (my lips were really sore after that..).

gerard cosmetics "cherry cordial" lipstick

this is a color we both chose with my sister and it's a really beautiful fall/winter color. the cherry cordial has great pigment unlike the underground. the formula is a good balance of being quite matte but not too drying.

first impression: colourpop ultra matte lip & lippie stix

colourpop is an american brand that is the most known for its lip products and eye shadows. i've been drooling their products for ages but they don't deliver to europe yet.

i gave in and i ordered few products from ebay. the point of colourpop is that the products are really affordable and that gets kind of ruined when you need to pay the double price..

their iconic product is the lippie stix. it's like a lipstick but smaller, and they come in different textures.

the colors that i chose were frida (satin) and dalia (matte). i would have prefered lumiere but it was out of stock.

the texture is lovely soft but the pigment is still greatly strong. it's a good everyday nude color but since i have silver hair now it's a little bit too warm toned for me. beautiful color nonetheless.

dalia is a great fall and winter color, in those seasons i love to wear dark lipsticks. since it's matte formula it's a bit more difficult to get applied evenly (i almost wish it was satin formula).

colourpops's new lip product that they launched in the summer is the ultra matte lip that is a liquid lipstick.

ultra matte lip "midi"

midi is a great cold-toned nude that i've absolutely fell in love with! this is only one layer, so the pigment is really good too, since many times you need to apply liquid lipsticks at least 2 layers. in my opinion the quality-price ratio is much better in this product than for example in the anastasia beverly hills liquid lipstick (read my post here).

definitely will consider buying more of their products!
